Off to Nationals!

23rd April 2012 | Miscellanious

Well I leave early tomorrow morning to fly to Chicago, where I will be participating in the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference. I will be competing both in Web Application Team and Economic Research Project Individual. I’ve been a national finalist 4 times, but never gotten a podium spot, so hopefully this will be my year!

My regular readers have surely noticed that posting has slowed down substantially the last few weeks. Unfortunately, my increasingly busy schedule has prevented me from writing consistently. Between preparing for nationals, finishing high school, running a freelance business, building niche sites, and working on a huge business project (which I’ll be sharing soon), I’ve had very little time to devote to this blog. However, that will turn around in May if everything goes to plan. I’m even going to be hosting the Carnival of Personal Finance in about a month.

I’ve also started to hear back from some more scholarships, with mixed results. I’ll be doing a full scholarship roundup post once I’ve heard from the rest of them, and will then look at exactly how much money I’ll have to make in order to go through the first year with at least no debt, and hopefully with a surplus.

That’s all for today’s post. I may not be posting again until next week, as its unlikely I’ll have time to write during my fully packed Chicago schedule. Check back then!

Good luck on nationals James! While you’ve never made it on the podium, I’m sure those were all great experiences. It probably helps to mention those experiences on your scholarship applications too. Looking forward to hearing about the new business you’ve got going too.

Thanks! They definitely do help with the scholarship applications, and even some job applications and college applications.
